Head Coach & Camp Director
Coach Holt, who has a total of 27 years of volleyball coaching experience under his belt, will begin his 11th season as a head volleyball coach for the Missouri S&T Miners in the fall of 2017, after leading the Miners to back to back GLVC West Division Championship titles in 2011 and 2012 and their second NCAA Regional Championship appearance in 2014. Holt was honored with the 2011 GLVC Coach of the year award.
Prior to his arrival at S&T, Holt spent four seasons as the first assistant coach the the University of North Dakota, where he helped lead the Fighting Sioux to their first two apperances in the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2002 and 2003.
He came to UND by way of Hays, Kansas, where Holt served as the top assistant coach for the Lady Tigers of Fort Hays State University for two seasons. He also spent one season with prestigious Front Range Volleyball Club of Denver, Colorado.
He received his undergraduate degree in physical education and interdisciplinary studies from Western Oregon University in 1995 and a master's degree in physical education and sport administration from Fort Hays State in May of 2002.
Maureen Nesbit is in her second year as the assistant volleyball coach at Missouri S&T.
Nesbit, a native of Belleville, Ill., and a graduate of Althoff Catholic High School. She played four years on both the volleyball and soccer team. She led the Althoff volleyball team to a fourth place finish in the 2007 Illinois State Tournament and in 2010 she earned All-State Honorable Mention recognition.
Nesbit played Division I volleyball at Butler University for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. In 2010, Butler won the Horizon League Conference Championship. Nesbit, an outside hitter and defensive specialist, transferred to McKendree University for her final two years averaging 2.58 kills and 3.29 digs per set. She earned her degree in Health and Wellness in 2014, was a two-time Academic All-GLVC recipient and also received the GLVC’s Council of Presidents Academic Excellence Award as well.
Nesbit has also been coaching girls at the grade school, middle school and high school levels at various volleyball camps in the St. Louis area. Some of those camps include the PlyoCity Youth Development Program, Cutting Edge Volleyball Academy (CEVA), Althoff Catholic High School Volleyball Camps, Butler University Volleyball Camps, McKendree University Volleyball Camps, Incarnate Word Academy High School Team Camp, and Freeburg High School Team Camp. She also coached at the club level for Team Momentum Volleyball Club, St. Louis, Mo. 16 Navy in 2013 and 16 Orange in 2014 and High Perfomance in St. Louis this past year for ages 13-16.
